T&P Policies

Policy on Placements

  • The placement policy is applicable to all students of B.E. final year and is to be followed for the entire duration of the placement season for the batch. Placement activities performed by SSIPMT Raipur is a service extended to graduating students and does not carry any guarantee of a job opportunity.

Eligibility

  • All students of B.E. final year are eligible for placement services. Further, academic eligibility/ criteria is applied as per specifications of the company visiting for campus recruitment.

Registration

  • At the start of 6th semester of an engineering batch, students are notified about Calyxpod – a portal controlled and monitored by the Department of Training and Placements, for various activities. Each student is required to register mandatorily on this portal. Registration on the portal requires the students to enter their personal academic and demographic details. Login credentials get generated and students can alter/ update their information any time in the future. Such updates, if any, are validated by the Department of Training and Placements.
  • A strict caution is also sounded to them, so as to ensure that every information that a student enters is correct.

Guidelines

  • Attendance is mandatory in any campus recruitment drive for all registered students (if they are not already placed).
  • If a student is offered/ selected by a company, he/ she will not be allowed to participate in another campus drive unless the CTC on offer is more than that offered by the earlier company.
  • Students who have secured a job offer are expected to join the company after completing B.E. Exceptions are considered on genuine reasons and the same is brought to the notice of the company’s official(s), if sought by them.
  • At the end of course, if a student has not secured an offer/ LoI from any of the companies, the Department of Training and Placements continues to extend support for off campus recruitment drives, till such information is available.
  • A student who has secured a placement is required to share his/ her offer letter/ LoI and photograph with the department of training and placement.
  • Students, who miss two (2) consecutive campus drives, will not be allowed to sit for the immediate next campus drive. As an exception, the department ensures that students with valid reasons should not suffer.

Other Policies

Trainings

  • The institute strives hard in making students 'Industry-ready'. While trainings of technical nature are taken care of by the individual departments/ branches, trainings related to soft skills, campus recruitments, etc. are conducted by the Department of Training & Placements. The trainings are imparted with the objective of improving the chances of selection of the students participating in campus recruitment drives, but the same is neither guaranteed nor committed.
  • Once planned, students are intimated about the details of the training viz. syllabus, mode of delivery, timelines/ time table, and students are instructed to register by giving their names to appointees.
  • Attendance is mandatory for all students who have registered for a training. As an exception, the department ensures that students with valid reasons should not suffer.

Vocational Trainings

  • An undertaking (can be downloaded from the institute's website) is required to be filled and duly signed by student and his/ her guardian for the issue of bonafide certificate to be produced in the organization where the student wishes to undergo VT. Post the completion of VT, a copy of the certificate is also required to be submitted to the respective department/ branch in the manner as suggested by the department.

Internships

Subject: Rubrics for engineering students doing full time paid internship

Following are some important policy guidelines for the Engineering students doing full time paid internship (with immediate effect): -

  • Students doing/opting for full time paid internship should inform the Training and Placement cell and acquire necessary permissions mandatorily before submission of details of the same to the concerned department and HOD.
  • The stipend amount for students of B.Tech. 3rd and 4th Year should not be less than INR 8-10 K per month, and the stipend amount for B.Tech students of 1st and 2nd year should at least be INR 5 K per month.
  • Students of Final year/Pre-Final Year doing Major/Minor projects can identify the title of their projects and form groups amongst themselves. If a student is unable to form/be a part of a group, he/she can do the project individually.
  • The topic of internship can also be used as the topic for major/minor projects, or else it should be something related to internship done by the student, with due approval from the respective HOD.
  • Students undergoing full time paid internship can give their presentations in online or offline mode with due permission from their respective Guide and HOD.
  • Students undergoing Full time paid internship have to appear in either CT-1 or CT-2 in offline mode mandatorily. For the examination appeared online, hard copy of the answer sheets should be mandatorily submitted to the concerned department as per instructions of the respective HOD.
  • Students doing Full time paid internship will be given relevant relaxation in attendance, the same shall be done under the discretion of the concerned HOD.
  • Students opting for internship (without stipend) in reputed companies with due permission from Dean TPO and the respective HOD shall also be considered falling under the purview of this notice.
  • In case a student who has done full time paid internship doesn’t get placed till 8 th Semester, the concerned department under the discretion of the HOD, shall have the right to not consider the student under the purview of this notice.
