Semester Syllabus

Electronics and Telecommunication is a branch dealing with the design of electronic devices like chips, microprocessors, VLSI design, embedded systems etc. It also includes communication part which primarily focuses on the sharing and transfer of information from one place to another. All the companies manufacturing local wrist watches, washing machines, refrigerators, LED TVs, huge turbines, smart phones, marine ships, train, airplanes and all chip designing companies, automobile manufacturing giants recruit Electronics and Telecommunication graduates.

Scope of Electronics & Telecommunication

  • Electronic (core) jobs: There are tremendous job opportunities for an ET&T engineer in their core fields. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Intel, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, LG, Nokia, AMD, CISCO, Nvidia, HP and IBM are just few names to mention.
  • Software (IT) Job: 3i Infotech, Amazon, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Hexaware, HCL Technologies, iGate, Infosys, ITC Infotech, L&T Infotech, Mindtree, Sasken, TCS, ThoughtWorks, Wipro, Mphasis, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini.
  • Higher studies: Engineering graduates can do masters (Engineering and Management) from premier institutes of India like IITs, IISc, IIMs, etc. and also from foreign universities like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, etc.
  • Entrepreneurship: Electronic engineers can start their own business by manufacturing electronic parts, goods and components. Electronics gives high returns on initial investment.

PEO - 1

Obtain in depth knowledge and Comprehensive of the core discipline, to help them to design new products and architectures find novel solutions, which are efficient, cost effective and socially acceptable.

Able to utilize acquired knowledge and skills to invent and develop novel and creative technology in multidisciplinary work environment.

Possess leadership quality and be able to optimize the use of available resources.

PEO – 4

Program Outcomes (POs):

PO1: Engineering Knowledge Apply knowledge of mathematics, Science & Electronics & Communication Engineering for Solving Engineering Problems & Modeling.
PO2: Problem Analysis Design and conduct experiments as well as to analyze and interpret experimental (collected data), simulate and fabricate electronic circuits and systems and make own projects utilizing latest software tools and techniques. They also possess the ability to identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex engineering problems to reach logical conclusions.
PO3: Design & Development of Solutions Design a system, component or process to meet the desired specifications, performance and capabilities; compatible with health, safety, legal, societal and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems Use research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments in analyzing and interpreting data, and synthesizes the data to come to valid conclusion.
PO5: Modern Tool Usage Apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern attitudes, IT tools (linking hardware and software) including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities and research.
PO6: Engineer and Society Understand the special duty they owe to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare by virtue of their professional status as engineers in society.
PO7: Environment and Sustainability Understand and correctly interpret the impact of engineering solutions in global, societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of a need for sustainable development.
PO8: Ethics Understand ethics of life and professions and abide by them. Develop consciousness of professional, ethical and social responsibilities as experts in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

PSO - 1

Ability to identify, understand and solve problems of Electronics and Communication engineering and to apply them to various fields like signal and system, Analog and digital Electronic circuits, VLSI, Embedded system etc.

PSO - 2

Ability to design and analyses complex electronic system and problems in research activity and Societal needs by using modern electronic tools.

PSO – 3

Knowledge of social & environmental awareness along with ethical responsibility to achieve a successful career addresses the real world applications using optimal resources as an entrepreneur.
