7th semester

Course Outcomes: Structural Engineering Design-III

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

C401.1 Design of plate girders with solid web and stiffeners.
C401.2 Design and analyze the members subjected to combined forces.
C401.3 Design Column bases and Gantry Girders.
C401.4 Design eccentric and moment resisting connections.
C401.5 Design of various components of Roof trusses.

Course Outcomes: Water Resource Engineering-I

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

C402.1 Apply the different methods and types of irrigation, water requirements of crops, delta duty and base period relationship.
C402.2 Design the canal and understand the application of Kennedy's and Lacey's Theory.
C402.3 Understand the effects of water logging its prevention and control and types of outlet.
C402.4 Understand the behavior of river, flood control, flood estimation and National Policy of floods.
C402.5 Analyze the reservoir for different demands and mass curve, demand curve and flood routing.

Course Outcomes: Environmental Engineering-II

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

C403.1 Design sewers for separate, combined and partially separate sewerage system of a city by calculating the quantity of sewage.
C403.2 Analyse the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of sewage required for designing the sewerage treatment units.
C403.3 Design preliminary and primary treatment units of sewerage treatment plant including screens, grit chambers, sedimentation tanks, septic tanks, oxidation ponds and sludge deposition.
C403.4 Design secondary treatment units of sewerage treatment plant including trickling filters, activated sludge unit, oxidation ditches, and anaerobic lagoons considering their constructional and operational aspects along with their sludge treatment.
C403.5 Analyze the pollution of river streams at various points due to discharge of waste water based on the self-purification process of water bodies and oxygen deficit equation.
C403.6 Understand the social, environmental and health implications of solid waste and industrial wastes through its management by proper collection, transportation,and treatment and disposal process.

Course Outcomes: Quantity Survey and Cost Evaluation

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

C404.1 Understand the basic concept of estimation and apply to calculate approximate expenditure.
C404.2 Evaluate the estimate of residential building, RCC structure and calculate the quantity of work.
C404.3 Analyze and assess the quantity of material required for different type of civil engineering works as per specification.
C404.4 Understand the types of contract and tendering process and apply this knowledge in the field.
C404.5 Apply the concept of valuation to evaluate the actual value of any property.

Course Outcomes: Traffic Engineering

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

C405.1 Apply the fundamental knowledge of traffic engineering to reduce the problems due to mixed traffic.
C405.2 Analyze the different traffic flow characteristics and know about the details of traffic studies and surveys.
C405.3 Classify the different traffic flow operations using control devices and to elucidate about the design of signals using IRC method.
C405.4 Analyze the traffic accidents, suggest remedies and create traffic safety awareness.
C405.5 Analyze the effects of pollution on proper flow of traffic and suggest preventive measures.
